VCDs have no regional codes and can be played in virtually all DVD players as well as computer CD-ROM's (e.g. Windows Media Player, XingMpeg Player, Cyberlink PowerDVD, Creative Playcenter). Some very old DVD players may not play VCDs. The Quality is better than VHS but inferior to DVD, which is more costly and restricted by its Region Coding security.
